“In a tale as old as time, on the day of our wedding, a lot of things went wrong. But when Rachael showed up for the day, it was like a breath of fresh air. She was completely professional, respectful and friendly in the face of the chaos that was erupting in the pre-wedding hours. She captured everything from our wedding, from the absurd to the sacred. The images are stunningly beautiful, and we’re so happy to have them to look back for the years to come.”

– Megan

“Rachael is by far one of the more genuine and dedicated photographers I have met. Not only does she care about every single detail of your shoot or event, she has a sparkling personality to go along with it! I am usually not at ease with someone photographing me, but Rachael can make you feel like a natural in seconds. If you want a personal, upbeat and enjoyable experience, Rachael and her talented team are the perfect choice for all the memories you want to capture.”

FAQ

1.) How long have you been a wedding photographer?

I’ve been a wedding photographer since 2010 but have studied photography since college. Though pursuing an English degree with the goal of one day teaching composition, my photography electives renewed my interest in a long time hobby and I found both an outlet for my creativity and my passion.

2.) What do you mean by Full Day Coverage?

Full Day Coverage allows your wedding to be fully documented, up to eight hours, starting at the getting ready stage and ending later in the night during your reception. The images, therefore, tell a more complete story of your day instead of simply the highlights. The start time of your coverage depends on when your wedding ceremony is scheduled, and where you are getting ready in relation to your ceremony location. In most cases, coverage starts 3 hours before the ceremony and ends sometime during the reception. Additional hours can be added to your coverage for an extra charge.

3.) Do you offer engagement sessions?

Absolutely! They are some of my favorite sessions to photograph! An engagement session is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate this important time in your lives. It also gives us the chance to work together before your big day. Having photos professionally taken can be intimidating and a little uncomfortable at first, so having a comfort level already established with me before your wedding day helps to ease some of the stress of the day. Plus it’s just a lot of fun!

4.) What is your turnaround time?

For engagement sessions, my turnaround time is usually 3 weeks. For weddings, it’s 8 weeks.

5.) You consider yourself a wedding photojournalist. Are you able to pose us for our portraits, as well?

My main focus on your wedding day is to photograph not only how your day looked, but more so how your day felt. That’s why most of my time there will be spent shooting around what’s happening during the day. When it does come to portraits, I do give lots of directions to pose you in a flattering way, and also for you to have natural expressions on your images.

6.) How much time should we schedule for the wedding portraits?

For family formals, it usually takes 3-5 minutes to photograph each group. So for 10 groups, you are looking at a minimum of 30 minutes if you are organized, or 50 minutes at the most. As for the portraits of you as a couple and the ones with your wedding party, I suggest 1-1.5 hours. The benefit of having Full Day Coverage is you don’t have to worry about paying for enough time. What you only need to do is schedule your wedding timeline realistically and with plenty of time for us to create the images of your dreams.

8.) What happens if you get sick and unable to shoot our wedding?

If something unfortunate does happen, I am lucky enough to belong to a network of talented photographers that I can call to cover your wedding. My second shooter and I have been working as a team exclusively for over two years. If anything should happen to me, he will take over as the lead photographer and another associate will come alongside as the second shooter. I have never missed a wedding and I don’t ever intend to!

9.) Do we get the digital negatives from our wedding?

Yes! All wedding packages include the high-res edited images delivered via private online gallery. The gallery can remain private or can be shared on social media. It can be viewed on all devices and computers.

10.) Can we print the images ourselves?

Yes, you may. I would highly recommend however to order your prints from me if you want your images printed on a high-quality archival paper with accurate color rendition. Prints from a professional lab last a lot longer compared to prints from a consumer lab. A print release will be sent to you via email when your gallery is delivered.

11.) How do we reserve our date?

Once you’ve decided that my style of photography is what you would like for your wedding day and we have decided that we are a good fit, an online contract will be sent to you to reserve the date. A non-refundable $500 retainer is due upon the contract signing and will be deducted from your final total.

12.) What is the payment schedule?

The first $500, which is the retainer fee, is due when you book your wedding date. The remaining balance is due no later than 21 days before your wedding date to ensure all funds go through.
